POSTER CABARET

Posted on 15 July 2009 by Claudia Sandoval

Poster Cabaret began selling limited edition gig posters online in 2002.  Originally inspired by the early art work of Emek and Derek Hess, the website has continuously expanded to include the top artists of the underground gig poster scene. The current website launched from Austin, Texas in August 2006. The online gallery, international in scope, includes over 1800 different posters. Over the last several years, Poster Cabaret has earned a reputation for offering the best gig posters being made today.

True to the original inspiration for Poster Cabaret, the site gallery is organized by artist, not band or concert venue.  Poster Cabaret is intentionally void of extra information and content.  The website is simple by design; the focus remains on posters, prints and artists.

In 2008, the gallery offering was expanded with art prints, often times made by the same artists making gig posters.  Poster Cabaret will continue adding non gig art in 2009; however, gig posters will remain the core of the site offering.
